Uncertainty continues to swirl around Giannis Antetokounmpo’s future in Milwaukee, but one NBA insider isn’t buying the speculation.
Speaking on Run It Back, The Athletic’s Sam Amick dismissed the idea that the two-time MVP will be wearing a different jersey next season. When asked what percent chance there is Antetokounmpo starts the 2025–26 campaign elsewhere, Amick answered, “I’ll put 10.” Moments later, he clarified, “I’ll say zero.”
Former NBA guard Lou Williams agreed, adding that Antetokounmpo’s behavior on social media points to him staying put. “Usually when a guy’s on Twitter and he’s having fun with the conversation… you’re not moving,” Williams said.
Michelle Beadle echoed that sentiment, noting how often Antetokounmpo interacts with Bucks teammates online. “Every time we have Bobby Portis on, we talk about it, and Giannis always comments on the videos,” Parsons shared.
The Bucks were eliminated in the first round of the playoffs for the third straight year, raising questions about the organization’s ability to keep its championship core intact. Damian Lillard is expected to miss extended time next season, and the team holds only one tradable first-round pick.
Despite that, Amick said he expects the Greek forward to remain committed to Milwaukee.
Milwaukee is prioritizing the free agency of Brook Lopez and Bobby Portis. The Bucks are reportedly also pitching Antetokounmpo on a larger offensive role for 2025–26.
Antetokounmpo averaged 30.4 points, 11.9 rebounds, and 6.5 assists this season while shooting 60.1% from the field. He remains one of the league’s most efficient and dominant players.
