While the Timberwolves and Phoenix Suns are reportedly close to a trade, Kevin Durant has made it clear he does not want to be sent to Minnesota – a stance that complicates any move.
ESPN’s Brian Windhorst echoed Spears, underscoring Edwards’ lack of recruitment influence.
“Spears said this yesterday, I did not see it get picked up out there so I’m glad he’s repeating it,” Windhorst commented. “That’s legitimately an important piece of information. Ant Edwards is not recruiting Kevin Durant. Kevin Durant says he doesn’t want to be in Minnesota. The deal is not done. This is not heading towards Minnesota.”
The Wolves reportedly have the assets to land Durant. Still, his unwillingness to go there lowers the odds, especially as the Suns may prefer offers from teams Durant has expressed a genuine desire for, like Miami, Houston, or San Antonio.
