While Cooper Flagg and Dylan Harper are widely projected to be the top two picks in the 2025 NBA Draft, the Washington Wizards’ focus has shifted to a next-tier group of six prospects.

According to a team source who spoke to Robbins, the franchise has created a shortlist of potential targets that includes:

  • V.J. Edgecombe – Explosive wing scorer with elite athleticism
  • Ace Bailey – Versatile forward with two-way upside
  • Jeremiah Fears – Skilled scoring guard with playmaking ability
  • Tre Johnson – Smooth perimeter scorer with a strong shooting touch
  • Kon Knueppel – High-IQ shooter and passer with strong fundamentals
  • Khaman Maluach – 7-foot defensive anchor with shot-blocking ability

The Wizards’ draft decisions will largely depend on which of these six remain available when their turn comes.

The front office is expected to weigh positional needs, particularly at guard, against long-term upside as they continue building a core to compete beyond 2027.
