Dallas Mavericks unrestricted free agent Dante Exum is reportedly aiming to stay in the NBA amid international speculation.

NBA insider Marc Stein reported that EuroLeague champion Fenerbahce has expressed interest in bringing Exum back to Europe, but sources indicate the 29-year-old guard is focused on continuing his career in the United States.

Stein noted that Exum and the Mavericks have mutual interest in negotiating a new deal ahead of the 2025 offseason.

Exum averaged 9.1 points, 2.8 assists, and 1.7 rebounds across 18 appearances this season, starting 12 of those games for Dallas.

His campaign was cut short after fracturing a bone in his left hand during a March 14 matchup against the Houston Rockets, ruling him out for the rest of the year.

The veteran combo guard was on a two-year, $6.15 million contract before entering unrestricted free agency this summer.

Dallas, which endured a turbulent 2024–25 season following a controversial midseason trade that sent Luka Doncic to the Lakers, is looking to stabilize its backcourt heading into the offseason.

With Kyrie Irving recovering from a torn ACL and the Mavericks owning the No. 1 pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, Exum’s potential return adds experience and familiarity to a team in transition.

The franchise finished 10th in the Western Conference at 39–43 and missed the playoffs after falling to the Memphis Grizzlies in the play-in tournament.
