Marc Stein of The Stein Line reports that there have been “strong indications” throughout the Phoenix Suns’ head coaching search that the organization is leaning toward trading Kevin Durant during the upcoming offseason.

Sources suggest that this potential move is being considered independently of who ultimately gets hired as the team’s next head coach, indicating the decision to move Durant may already be in motion behind the scenes.

As part of their coaching search, the Suns are reportedly advancing Miami Heat assistant Chris Quinn and Cleveland Cavaliers assistant Jordan Ott to the next stage of interviews, which will include in-person meetings with team owner Mat Ishbia.

Franchise cornerstone Devin Booker has also been actively involved in the hiring process, signaling his influence in shaping the future of the team.

However, any major roster shake-up involving Durant may not occur immediately.

League insiders believe that Phoenix could wait to finalize any potential deal until the uncertain status of Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo is resolved, as his availability could significantly impact the market and timing of blockbuster trades.
