Veteran center DeAndre Jordan, who served as the backup big man for the Denver Nuggets this past season, recently took to Instagram to express his appreciation for the team and its fans after completing his 17th year in the NBA.
As noted by Vinny Benedetto of the Denver Gazette, Jordan’s heartfelt message reflected on the meaningful experience he had with the organization and its supporters.
“Can’t say enough how grateful I am for this team, this city, and everyone who supported us along the way,” Jordan wrote, showing gratitude for the journey he’s had in Denver.
“Playing this game never gets old, and doing it with this group made it even more meaningful,” he added, emphasizing the special bond he felt with his teammates and the joy of continuing to compete at the highest level.
However, despite the reflective tone, Jordan was quick to clarify that his message was not signaling the end of his playing days.
“This isn’t a retirement post!” he concluded, making it clear that he still intends to continue his career.
With his contract set to expire, Jordan will become an unrestricted free agent this summer, leaving his future in Denver and the NBA open as the offseason begins.
Jordan has played 17 seasons for 7 teams, including the Clippers. He has averaged 9.7 rebounds and 8.5 points in 1,111 regular-season games.
He was selected to play in 1 All-Star game, and has won 1 NBA championship.
