As the Boston Celtics explore ways to reduce their hefty luxury tax obligations, veteran point guard Jrue Holiday is drawing interest from several teams – notably, the Los Angeles Clippers are expected to be among the more serious contenders, according to a report by Brian Robb of MassLive.com.

Although Holiday is anticipated to have several potential suitors, the Clippers stand out due to their past pursuit of the former All-Star.

Robb points out that Los Angeles made a run at acquiring Holiday during the 2023 trade window but ultimately lost out to Boston.

At that time, the Celtics secured Holiday by sending Malcolm Brogdon, Robert Williams III, and two future first-round draft picks to the Portland Trail Blazers.

Holiday, known for his defensive prowess and steady veteran leadership, is under contract for three more seasons with a total value of approximately $104 million.

In the event discussions between the Celtics and Clippers gain traction, Robb suggests that Bogdan Bogdanovic’s $16 million salary could play a key role in facilitating a financially viable trade package, helping to match salaries under NBA trade rules.
