Dimitris Diamantidis is once again in the seletcet company of EuroLeague. He already became EuroLeague legend a few years ago, and now is selected in All-25 Players in the past 25 years of the EuroLeague. They guy that won it all with one team – Panathinaikos.

Once again, he showed his humbleness and it looked like he is not even realizing what impact he left on European basketball and in the EuroLeague.

“I feel amazing, I feel great. It is something very unique to be one of these 25 group. After so many games and all those EuroLeague titles and also losses. All of that was amazing for me, to be in this small group. I am very happy and I want to congratulate all the other players that made it”, said Diamantidis who thinks that you can learn a lot from your losses. His final game was loss against Olympiacos. In that game, Spanoulis scored the final shot and made Olympiacos game winner in the Greek championship. After that game “3D” said: “It had to be Billy!”

“Yes, I remember that game. It was kind of difficult, but this is sport, this is life. Billy scored that amazing three-point shot, so in my last game we lost in the Greek championship”, said Diamantidis, who made the shot before Spanoulis finished the game.

“I made the shot, and for the moment I thought we finished the game, all is over. Billy had different opinion, he did what he done so many times, he scored one more shot. And I am glad he we are both in this group of 25. He is friend of mine, we have some beautiful moments together, in the national team and in Panathinaikos. Also, I liked playing against him. I am very glad he is not coaching and with his team made it here as well. He is in Final 4″, said Dimitris, who was doing everything he did being only in one club.

He joined Panathinaikos at the young age, and finished his career in the same club, winning MVP and EuroLeague’s titles.

“When I joined Panathinaikos I knew where I came, and when you are young you want to play against best clubs, in the best club, win titles. Also, I wanted to improve and be better and better and the club allowed me that. I am very grateful for that kind of the opportunity. When I was young I didn’t imagine I could make in the All-25 of EuroLeague. Personally, when I signed for Panathinaikos, I knew it that I have to give my best in order to play in one team that is in the top teams in Europe. My first goal was the have minutes with the team, after to have more minutes, after that to be more important for the team. So that was my goal”, said Diamantidis.
