Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr currently sees Jonathan Kuminga as a talented player who still isn’t ready for a major role when the priority is winning games.

Although Kuminga has potential and a strong desire to contribute more, the coach is focused on building lineups that give the team the best chance to succeed right now.

With a roster built around experienced stars like Stephen Curry, Draymond Green, and others, Kerr believes he cannot rely on Kuminga for heavy minutes, especially not in the range of 35 to 38 per game.

In his view, doing so would disrupt the team’s balance and reduce their chances of winning.

Kerr is under pressure to produce results, and in his current strategy, Kuminga doesn’t yet fit as a core piece in the high-minute rotation.

The challenge lies in assembling a winning formula with the players available, and at this stage, the player isn’t a consistent part of that equation.

Kuminga has played 4 seasons for the Warriors. He has averaged 12.5 points and 4.0 rebounds in 258 regular-season games. He has won 1 NBA championship.
