Despite conducting interviews to replace former president of basketball operations Landry Fields, the Atlanta Hawks may ultimately decide against filling the position altogether.
As reported by Jake Fischer, there is a growing possibility that the organization will choose to move forward without appointing a new top executive after promoting Onsi Saleh to general manager.
This would not be an unusual decision for a franchise already described as having a crowded front office. Atlanta is said to be operating with a multitude of voices influencing personnel moves, potentially reducing the necessity for a single overarching decision-maker.
While the Hawks have taken meetings with potential candidates, Fischer’s sources suggest that the team may be leaning toward a more collaborative, committee-style approach to basketball operations, at least in the short term.
