Denver Nuggets star guard Jamal Murray was initially listed as questionable for Thursday’s game due to an illness, as previously reported.
Despite feeling under the weather, Murray showed remarkable resilience and played 42 minutes, delivering an impressive performance with 25 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists.
After the game, interim coach David Adelman praised the medical staff for their efforts in helping the shooting guard get ready to compete, according to Vinny Benedetto of the Denver Gazette on Twitter.
“That’s Jamal Murray,” Adelman remarked. “It’s almost like the worse it is, the better he’s going to be. What a tough-minded man.”
The player’s grit and determination played a crucial role in the Nuggets’ success that night.
Murray has played 8 seasons for Denver. He has averaged 18.0 points, 4.7 assists, and 3.8 rebounds in 536 regular-season games.
He has won 1 NBA championship.
