With Stephen Curry sidelined, the Golden State Warriors are looking to Draymond Green to step up both on the court and as a leader, according to ESPN’s Ohm Youngmisuk.
Warriors head coach Steve Kerr praised Green’s leadership, highlighting his importance to the team, especially when he’s performing at his best.
“He’s our leader,” Kerr emphasized, noting that when Green is fully engaged, as he was during the decisive Game 7 in the first round, he becomes an invaluable asset.
Kerr specifically pointed to Green’s impact on the defensive end, where he has the ability to dominate and control the game.
Additionally, Kerr stressed how crucial it is for Green to stay composed on offense, making the right plays, avoiding turnovers, and being in the right positions.
Following their disorganized performance in Game 6, Kerr pointed out that the team recognized the need for better structure and patience moving forward, with Green playing a central role in helping the Warriors find their rhythm.
Vice president of basketball engagement Alvin Gentry will remain with the Kings, plus more notes from the Pacific. https://t.co/A8SObVh2Y7
