The NBA has officially announced that the New York Knicks and Philadelphia 76ers will compete in The NBA Abu Dhabi Games 2025. The preseason games will take place on October 2 and 4, 2025, at Etihad Arena on Yas Island, Abu Dhabi.

The Knicks, one of the NBA’s most storied franchises, are led by All-Star guard Jalen Brunson, five-time All-Star Karl-Anthony Towns, and 2022 NBA All-Defensive First Team member Mikal Bridges. Both Brunson and Bridges previously played in Abu Dhabi as part of the USA Basketball Men’s National Team during the 2023 FIBA World Cup preparations. Towns participated in the NBA Abu Dhabi Games in 2023 while with the Minnesota Timberwolves.

The 76ers are poised to bring their star power to the UAE, with reigning MVP Joel Embiid, nine-time All-Star Paul George, and the up-and-coming Tyrese Maxey leading the team. Embiid, like his counterpart Brunson, also has experience in Abu Dhabi, having played for the USAB Men’s National Team before the 2024 Paris Olympics.

The games are part of a broader initiative by the NBA and the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi). This ongoing partnership aims to promote the sport of basketball in the Middle East. The games will be broadcast to over 200 countries, ensuring that fans from around the globe can tune in to watch the action.

“The NBA Abu Dhabi Games for a fourth consecutive year reflect our commitment to growing basketball and empowering youth in the UAE and region,” said H.E. Saleh Al Geziry, Director General for Tourism at DCT Abu Dhabi. “We are thrilled to welcome the Knicks and 76ers for this exciting event.”

Fans interested in attending can expect special ticket packages offering VIP experiences, hospitality, and local accommodations. Further details on ticket sales will be announced soon. Those wishing to stay informed can visit the NBA’s official website or register for updates.

The NBA Abu Dhabi Games are more than just a series of preseason matchups. They are a key part of the NBA’s ongoing efforts to expand its global reach and build deeper connections with basketball fans in the Middle East. Since 2022, the collaboration has also involved youth development programs, fan events, and NBA Cares clinics focused on health and wellness.

“Bringing the 76ers to Abu Dhabi is an incredible opportunity to connect with fans in this dynamic region,” said Josh Harris, Managing Partner of the 76ers. “We are excited to engage with the vibrant community here and further the NBA’s global mission.”
