Payton Pritchard has been honored as the NBA’s Sixth Man of the Year for the 2024-25 season, recognizing his pivotal role and consistent excellence off the bench for the Boston Celtics.
He secured the award convincingly, garnering 82 out of 100 first-place votes and amassing a total of 454 points. He finished ahead of Malik Beasley, who placed second, and Ty Jerome, who came in third.
This season marked a breakout year for Pritchard, as he posted a career-best average of 14.3 points per game.
He was a dominant scoring presence in the second unit, leading the entire league in total points scored off the bench with 1,079.
Pritchard also made history by breaking the NBA’s single-season record for three-pointers made by a reserve, knocking down an impressive 246 shots from beyond the arc.
Originally selected with the 26th overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft out of the University of Oregon, Pritchard has steadily developed into a key contributor for the Celtics.
In 2023, Boston reaffirmed its confidence in him by signing him to a four-year contract extension worth $30 million.
