New York Knicks guard Josh Hart dropped a basketball bombshell during a recent appearance on the Roommates Show, making an astonishing claim about former NBA player Michael Beasley’s abilities. “I really think—at least that I’ve seen—he is the most talented person I’ve ever seen touch a basketball,” Hart stated emphatically.

The declaration carries extra weight considering Hart’s NBA experience, including playing alongside LeBron James. When reminded he’d shared the court with James, Hart doubled down: “Yeah, but like, in terms of ‘go get a bucket’… if it’s check rock, one-on-one, go get a bucket? I’m taking him over KD.”

Hart, currently helping the Knicks maintain their third-place standing in the East (50-31), has trained with Beasley during summers and played in pro-ams with him. His assessment comes from firsthand experience watching the 2008 No. 2 overall pick operate in unguarded settings.

“Bro, in terms of one-on-one—check rock, I’ma go get a bucket—he’s up there,” Hart continued, placing Beasley’s isolation skills above even Kevin Durant’s, whom he called “the best scorer ever” in NBA games.

Beasley’s 11-year NBA career saw him average 12.4 points across eight teams, never quite matching the superstar expectations of his draft position. Yet Hart’s comments suggest the former Kansas State star’s practice and pickup game performances revealed another level of talent.

While Beasley last played in the NBA during the 2018-19 season, Hart’s comments have sparked renewed discussion about the most gifted players basketball fans never got to see at their absolute peak.
