Golden State Warriors wing Brandin Podziemski had a challenging performance on Wednesday, managing just seven points in 33 minutes of play.
This was a sharp contrast to his recent stretch of games, where he had been averaging 23.8 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 4.8 assists over his previous four appearances.
His impressive second-half surge has been a key factor in the Warriors’ push for a top-six spot in the standings, as noted by The Athletic’s Anthony Slater.
However, Coach Steve Kerr pointed out that Podziemski struggled during this particular game, explaining, “He was pressing early. He was trying too hard to be an All-Star instead of just taking the next step.
“And we had a lot of guys who could all play. He didn’t stand out in camp. He didn’t play well enough to earn what he’s earning now.”
Podziemski has played 2 seasons for the Warriors. He has averaged 10.3 points, 5.4 rebounds and 3.6 assists in 136 regular-season games.
