Carmelo Anthony has been selected for the 2025 Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame, as confirmed by Shams Charania.
Though the official announcement will be made on April 5 during the NCAA Final Four, Charania’s report confirms Anthony will be among the inductees.
The third overall pick in the 2003 NBA Draft, Anthony had a remarkable 19-season career in the NBA, playing 1,260 regular-season games.
Over his career, he averaged 22.5 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 2.7 assists per game.
He was a 10-time NBA All-Star and earned six All-NBA selections (two Second Team and four Third Team).
Anthony also led the league in scoring during the 2012-13 season and ranks 12th on the NBA’s all-time scoring list.
His legacy includes stints with the Denver Nuggets, New York Knicks, Oklahoma City Thunder, Houston Rockets, Portland Trail Blazers, and Los Angeles Lakers.
In addition to his NBA success, Anthony also made a significant impact in college basketball, winning a national championship with Syracuse in 2003.
On the international stage, he was a key player for Team USA, earning three Olympic gold medals in 2008, 2012, and 2016.
Since retiring in 2023, Anthony has turned to podcasting, hosting the 7PM in Brooklyn podcast.
He has also expressed interest in joining an NBA ownership group, specifically mentioning the Washington Wizards as a team he’d like to be involved with.
