Kevin Durant could be on the move this offseason, according to NBA insider Brandon “Scoop B” Robinson. On The Basketball Society podcast, Robinson revealed multiple teams are eyeing the future Hall of Famer, with the Houston Rockets, San Antonio Spurs, and Oklahoma City Thunder emerging as top contenders.

Durant, who turns 37 next season, remains one of the league’s most dominant players, averaging 26.4 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 4.3 assists this year. Despite his stellar play, the Suns’ struggles (33-37, 10th in the West) have fueled speculation about his future.

Robinson highlighted Houston as a strong suitor, citing Durant’s ties to Rockets head coach Ime Udoka and assistant Royal Ivey, his best friend.

“The Rockets have been a shark in the water trying to find a way to get KD,” Robinson said. He added, “Royal Ivey is KD’s best friend. He was in Royal Ivey’s wedding and is his daughter’s godfather. There’s a relationship there, both coming from Texas, being Longhorns and all of that stuff.”

The Spurs are also in the mix, with Robinson noting their interest in pairing Durant with rising star Victor Wembanyama.

“San Antonio would be a great place for KD to flourish,” he said. “I think Victor Wembanyama is believed to be the next or one of the faces of the league, and as you get older, you want to be around that.”

Oklahoma City, Durant’s former team, is another potential destination. Robinson believes the Thunder’s young core and assets make them a compelling option. “KD’s game fits any system, and OKC has the pieces to make it work,” he said.

While the Dallas Mavericks and Washington Wizards have also shown interest, Robinson ruled out major markets like New York or San Francisco. “He doesn’t need those cities. He’s done that already,” he explained.

Robinson also emphasized Durant’s longevity, comparing him to LeBron James. “I think Kevin Durant will be another one of those players like LeBron that’ll play into his 40s. I think it’s written in the cards as long as he stays healthy.”

“I think Houston, Dallas, Oklahoma and San Antonio are the teams that I think legitimately both from a having assets to move attractive skill set of players to move and just a lifestyle that is matching of Kevin Durant,” Robinson concluded.

Durant’s $194 million contract runs through next season, but the Suns’ underwhelming performance could force their hand. With a Big 3 of Durant, Devin Booker, and Bradley Beal failing to meet expectations, Phoenix may explore trade options to retool their roster.

As the offseason approaches, all eyes will be on Durant’s next move. Will he reunite with old friends in Houston, mentor Wembanyama in San Antonio, or return to OKC? One thing is certain: the KD sweepstakes are just heating up.
