Chicago Bulls guard Coby White, recently named the Eastern Conference Player of the Week, shared that the challenges he faced early in his career are now translating into success.
In an interview with Julia Poe of the Chicago Tribune, White reflected on his journey and how his struggles shaped his development.
“I wasn’t very good when I came into the league,” White admitted. “I had a lot to learn. It was all about humbling myself to the point where I looked in the mirror and said, ‘I have to get better. I have to get stronger. I have to be more physical. I have to figure out who I am as a player.’”
This self-awareness and commitment to improvement have paid off, as White has been playing some of the best basketball of his career.
Since the All-Star break, he’s been averaging an impressive 24.1 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game, showcasing his growth as both a scorer and a well-rounded contributor for the Bulls.
