A key but often overlooked factor in the Detroit Pistons’ success this season has been their ability to stay healthy and maintain a consistent lineup, as noted by Omari Sankofa II of the Detroit Free Press.

Aside from Jaden Ivey, who suffered a broken fibula on January 1, the team’s core rotation players have largely avoided injuries, allowing them to build chemistry and stability on the court.

Cade Cunningham, who struggled with injuries in previous seasons, is on track to play 70 games – a significant milestone for the young star. Meanwhile, rookie Ron Holland and sixth man Malik Beasley have been ironmen for the team, appearing in every game so far.

Cunningham emphasized how crucial this consistency has been for the team’s performance.

“That’s been huge towards our consistency as a group, having pretty much the same starting five most games this year,” Cunningham said.

“Same rotation, guys are able to play every night. It’s a huge thing. I know it helps coach a lot. It’s huge for our synergy, knowing where everybody is going to be at, keeping the same consistency as far as groups on the floor and things like that. Health is the main thing. ‘The best ability is availability’ is what they always say.”

With a stable lineup and improved health across the roster, the Pistons have been able to develop their rhythm, making them a much more cohesive and competitive unit this season.
