ill Chisholm, the managing partner of Symphony Technology Group, has finalized a deal to acquire the Boston Celtics, valuing the team at an impressive $6.1 billion. This transaction marks the most expensive sale of any sports franchise in North American history.

A native of the North Shore region in Massachusetts, Chisholm has been a devoted Boston Celtics fan for his entire life. His deep-rooted connection to the team adds a personal significance to this landmark acquisition.

The decision to sell the franchise was made by the Grousbeck family, who had been its majority owners. They officially put the team on the market during the summer of the previous year.

The sale was announced shortly after the Celtics secured their record-breaking 18th NBA championship, further cementing the team’s legacy as one of the most successful and storied franchises in professional basketball.
