Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr acknowledged that Steph Curry was fatigued and in need of a break after the team’s 114-105 defeat to the Denver Nuggets on Monday night.

Curry, who had been listed as questionable for the game due to a lower back strain, struggled with his performance, registering seven turnovers and missing 10 out of his 14 attempts from beyond the arc.

“He’s tired. Steph’s been carrying us for a month. He’s been amazing. He’s tired, so we got to get him some rest,” Kerr remarked.

Given Curry’s workload over the past month, Kerr emphasized the importance of allowing the star player to recuperate. The veteran guard might even sit out against the Bucks on Tuesday night to recover.

“I feel fine. Obviously I didn’t play great at all, so everybody including Coach is going to try to figure out why. Mostly the turnovers, dumb plays all night, but I had a really good run,” the player reflected on his performance, noting his recent success despite the off-night.

Curry has played 16 seasons for the Warriors. He has averaged 24.7 points, 6.4 assists and 4.7 rebounds in 1,015 regular-season games.

He was selected to play in 10 All-Star games. He has won 2 MVP awards, 1 Finals MVP award, and 4 NBA championships.
