The Houston Rockets overcame a 25-point deficit to defeat the Philadelphia 76ers 144-137 in overtime on Monday night, extending their season-best winning streak to seven games.

Jalen Green and Jabari Smith Jr. each scored 30 points as Houston (44-25) remained in second place in the Western Conference.

The 76ers (23-45) controlled most of the game and led by eight with under a minute left in regulation, but the Rockets forced overtime with a 10-2 run.

Alperen Sengun’s putback with 3.1 seconds left tied the game at 131 after Smith split a pair of free throws. Philadelphia had a chance to win, but Jalen Hood-Schifino’s jumper missed at the buzzer.

Houston opened the extra period with a 9-3 run, securing their first lead of the night. Quentin Grimes responded with a three-pointer to cut the deficit to 140-137, but the Rockets sealed the game with free throws from Sengun and Aaron Holiday.

Grimes delivered a career-high 46 points, hitting eight three-pointers and grabbing 13 rebounds, while the 76ers tied a franchise record with 24 made threes.

Dillon Brooks added 25 points for Houston, and Sengun finished with 13 points, 11 rebounds, and five assists. The Rockets hit a season-high 22 three-pointers and outrebounded Philadelphia 58-35.

Philadelphia, missing multiple key players due to injuries, fought hard but could not close out the game. Grimes has now scored at least 40 points twice this month and over 30 four times.
