Nikola Jokic believes there is no such thing as flipping a switch when the postseason begins. The Denver Nuggets star dismissed the idea that players or teams can suddenly elevate their performance in the playoffs.

“I think who you are in the regular season, that’s who you are in the playoffs,” Jokic said. “I think you cannot flip a switch.”

Jokic, a frontrunner for his fourth MVP award, has been dominant throughout the season. The 30-year-old Serbian is averaging 29.1 points, 12.8 rebounds, and 10.3 assists in 36.5 minutes per game.

Despite his strong individual play, the Nuggets have been inconsistent in recent weeks. Denver (43-25) is currently third in the Western Conference, tied in record with the second-seeded Houston Rockets and fourth-seeded Memphis Grizzlies.

The Nuggets have gone 5-5 in their last ten games. Jokic’s comments suggest he believes sustained success comes from season-long habits rather than a sudden shift in mentality.
