Despite suffering a severe injury that left him needing wheelchair assistance earlier this week, Duke men’s basketball star Cooper Flagg is expected to participate in the upcoming NCAA Tournament, as confirmed by his team.
Both Duke University and the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) have communicated to the NCAA Tournament selection committee that Flagg will be ready to play, according to Dan Gavitt, the NCAA’s senior vice president for basketball, who spoke on CBS Saturday.
Gavitt’s statement was made just ahead of the official announcement of the NCAA Tournament bracket on Sunday.
Flagg sustained a sprained left ankle during Duke’s victory over Georgia Tech in the ACC Tournament quarterfinals on Thursday.
