Houston Rockets shooting guard Jalen Green has made significant strides in two key areas of his game: ball protection and playmaking, according to Kelly Iko.

In February, Green posted a career-high average of 4.4 assists per game, marking the best one-month performance of his young career.

Along with his improved playmaking, he has also shown progress in controlling turnovers, ranking in the 54th percentile for turnover percentage, which is impressive given that he’s also in the 99th percentile in usage rate.

Head coach Ime Udoka has praised Green’s progress, highlighting how the young guard has continued to refine these aspects of his game.

“It’s a process that he improved on last year,” Udoka said. “But understanding – especially on a night where guys are missing – he’s going to be the focal point of a defense. Continue to work on it, improve in that area. It’s something we’ve really stressed to him and he’s gotten better at.”

As the Rockets continue to rely on Green to lead the offense, his development in these areas will be crucial for both his individual growth and the team’s success moving forward.

Green has played 4 seasons for the Rockets. He has averaged 20.1 points, 4.2 rebounds and 3.3 assists in 287 regular-season games.
