The Brooklyn Nets have agreed to a two-way contract with guard Tyson Etienne, according to NBA insider Michael Scotto. The move comes after Etienne’s impressive performances with the Long Island Nets in the G League this season.
Etienne, 25, has been lighting up the G League with an average of 16.9 points per game, including a stellar 41.9% shooting from beyond the arc. He has also contributed 3.7 assists, 3.2 rebounds, and 1.3 steals per game.
After going undrafted in the 2022 NBA Draft, Etienne began his professional career by signing with the College Park Skyhawks on October 22, 2022.
His strong play in the G League earned him attention, leading to a brief stint with the Brooklyn Nets in September 2024. However, he was waived the following day, before ultimately finding his way to the Long Island Nets on October 27, 2024, where he continued to impress.
With Brooklyn currently sitting at 21-40 and ranked 11th in the Eastern Conference, the Nets are looking to build for the future. Adding a promising young talent like Etienne gives them additional depth as they continue to evaluate players for the future.
