The New York Knicks have added Anton Watson to their roster, claiming the 24-year-old forward on a two-way contract, according to NBA insider Michael Scotto.
Watson, who has been playing with the Maine Celtics, will now look to bring his skills to the Knicks as they continue their push for a top playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.
Watson has been averaging 12.1 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 2 assists in 29.9 minutes per game for the Maine Celtics. His strong performances in the G League earned him a spot with New York, who are currently 40-21, sitting in third place in the Eastern Conference.
The 6-foot-7 forward was selected by the Boston Celtics with the 54th overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft. He signed a two-way contract with Boston on August 2, 2024, but after a brief stint, the Celtics waived Watson on March 2, 2025. This opened the door for the Knicks to claim the young talent and bolster their roster.
