Caris LeVert’s buzzer-beating layup lifted the Atlanta Hawks to a 132-130 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies on Monday night. Atlanta overcame a late deficit to secure the win, with LeVert scoring 16 of his 25 points in the fourth quarter.
Zaccharie Risacher led the Hawks with 27 points on 11-for-13 shooting. Onyeka Okongwu contributed a double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds, while Trae Young added 12 points and 15 assists.
Memphis saw Desmond Bane notch his first career triple-double, finishing with 35 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists. However, his turnover in the final seconds proved costly, as Dyson Daniels stole the ball with 3.8 seconds left, leading to LeVert’s game-winning play.
The Grizzlies entered the contest without Santi Aldama and Ja Morant due to injuries. Their challenges worsened when Jaren Jackson Jr. exited in the opening minutes with a left ankle injury. Luke Kennard stepped up with 17 points, but it wasn’t enough to prevent Memphis from suffering its third straight late-game loss.
Atlanta dominated inside, scoring a season-high 82 points in the paint. The Hawks trailed by five with under three minutes remaining but closed the game on a 7-0 run to seal the victory.
The win keeps Atlanta in ninth place in the Eastern Conference as they push toward securing a play-in spot. Memphis, meanwhile, has dropped six of its last eight games and continues to slip in the Western Conference standings.
