Karl-Anthony Towns, who previously missed two games in December and January due to patellar tendinopathy in his right knee, experienced a flare-up of knee issues toward the end of Sunday’s game against the Boston Celtics.

As a result, the New York Knicks big man is now listed as questionable for Wednesday’s game due to a new issue with his left knee, specifically left knee patellar tendinopathy, according to Ian Begley of SNY.tv.

Earlier in the season, when Towns was unavailable, Jericho Sims stepped into the starting lineup. However, with Sims now playing for the Milwaukee Bucks, the Timberwolves may turn to either Precious Achiuwa or Ariel Hukporti to fill the starting role should Towns be unable to play.

Towns has played 10 seasons for the Timberwolves and Knicks. He has averaged 23.1 points, 11.1 rebounds and 3.2 assists in 625 regular-season games. He was selected to play in 4 All-Star games and has won the Rookie of the Year award.
