The Golden State Warriors (31-27) cruised past the Charlotte Hornets (14-43) with a commanding 128-92 victory on Tuesday night at Chase Center.
With the win, Golden State became the fifth NBA franchise to reach 3,000 all-time victories, joining the Lakers, Celtics, Knicks, and 76ers.
Stephen Curry and Draymond Green led the Warriors with 15 points each, while Buddy Hield added 16 off the bench. The team has now won four straight and six of its last seven games.
Charlotte struggled without LaMelo Ball, who was sidelined due to illness and an ankle injury. KJ Simpson scored 16 points, and Seth Curry contributed 14, but the Hornets committed 24 turnovers leading to 37 points for Golden State.
The Warriors erupted for 41 points in the third quarter, marking their 11th 40-point quarter of the season. Their defense stifled Charlotte, limiting the Hornets to just 37.1% shooting from the field and 27.5% from deep.
Golden State held an on-court ceremony at halftime to celebrate the 10th anniversary of its 2014-15 championship team, adding to the night’s significance.
Jimmy Butler, acquired before the trade deadline, has injected new energy into the Warriors’ lineup. His impact has helped Golden State surge in the standings, now sitting in eighth place in the Western Conference.
Curry had an off night from deep, hitting just 2-of-9 three-pointers, but the Warriors’ depth ensured the game was never in doubt. Eleven Golden State players scored, with Moses Moody contributing 13 points on 4-of-5 shooting.
The Hornets’ offense struggled under pressure, with Miles Bridges managing only nine points on 2-of-11 shooting. Mark Williams was one of Charlotte’s few bright spots, finishing with 12 points and 12 rebounds.
Golden State’s bench outscored Charlotte’s reserves 69-50. The team also tallied 40 assists, controlling the pace from start to finish.
With the victory, the Warriors continued their push for a higher seed in the West, while the Hornets dropped their fourth straight game and remain near the bottom of the East.
