The Washington Wizards have added forward Jalen McDaniels on a 10-day contract, NBA insider Shams Charania reported.
McDaniels, a 6-foot-9 forward, has been playing for the Capital City Go-Go in the G League, where he has posted shooting splits of 47% from the field, 39% from three, and 80% from the free-throw line.
The 27-year-old has averaged 13 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 1.9 assists in 29.8 minutes per game this season.
McDaniels joined the Memphis Hustle on November 22, but was traded to the Go-Go the next day. Since then, he has been a steady contributor.
Washington has struggled this season and is looking for potential contributors as they explore lineup adjustments. The team hopes McDaniels can provide depth and a defensive presence in his limited opportunity.
The Wizards will have 10 days to evaluate McDaniels before deciding whether to offer him another contract. His performance could determine if he earns an extended stay in the NBA.
