Cleveland Cavaliers big man Jarrett Allen sustained a right-hand injury during Friday’s win over New York, as reported by Tom Withers of The Associated Press.
Allen continued playing for a few minutes in the second half but ultimately left the game with 10 points and three rebounds in 20 minutes.
Head coach Kenny Atkinson confirmed that X-rays were negative, and Allen is scheduled for an MRI the following day.
Allen mentioned the injury likely occurred while attempting to block a shot in the first quarter but didn’t offer further details. Teammate Donovan Mitchell assured reporters that Allen will be fine.
Allen has played in all 56 games this season. If he misses time, Evan Mobley may move to center, with a forward spot available, potentially filled by De’Andre Hunter, Dean Wade, or Isaac Okoro.
