The Dallas Mavericks have issued an official update on Anthony Davis, stating that the All-Star big man is making progress after suffering a left adductor strain.
Davis sustained the injury on February 8 during his debut with Dallas against the Houston Rockets.
The team confirmed that he will be re-evaluated in two weeks, with further updates to follow based on his recovery.
Davis has played just one game since the blockbuster trade that sent Luka Dončić to the Los Angeles Lakers in exchange for the eight-time All-Star.
In that lone appearance, he dominated with 26 points, 16 rebounds, and 7 assists, leading the Mavericks to a crucial win over Houston.
His absence has forced Dallas to adjust its rotation as they push for playoff positioning in a competitive Western Conference.
The Mavericks currently hold the eighth seed with a 30-26 record, sitting two games behind the sixth-seeded Los Angeles Clippers.
Soft tissue injuries like adductor strains can be tricky, often requiring extensive rehab to prevent re-aggravation.
Davis has dealt with multiple injuries throughout his career, but when healthy, he remains one of the league’s most impactful two-way players.
