The Cleveland Cavaliers have agreed to a 10-day contract with Nae’Qwan Tomlin, according to NBA insider Michael Scotto. Tomlin has been impressing with the Cleveland Charge, averaging 24.6 points, 8.0 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 2.2 blocks over his last five games. He has been averaging 15.7 points, 7.1 rebounds and 1.9 assists in 28.6 minutes per game in the G League this season.
The 24-year-old forward has shot an impressive 55.4% from the field, including 38.7% from beyond the arc. This strong performance in the G League has earned him a shot with the Cavaliers, who are currently tied with the Oklahoma City Thunder for the best record in the NBA at 44-10.
After going undrafted in the 2024 NBA Draft, Tomlin joined the Cavaliers for the 2024 Summer League. Despite his strong showing, he was waived by Cleveland on September 24, 2024. However, he quickly found a home with the Cleveland Charge on October 26, 2024, where he continued to develop his game.
Now, with his strong play in the G League, Tomlin is getting another chance to prove himself at the NBA level. The Cavaliers, a team in the midst of a stellar season, will be looking to see how Tomlin can contribute to their roster as they push toward the playoffs.
The addition of Tomlin further strengthens Cleveland’s depth as they continue to chase a championship in the 2024-25 season.
