
Carmelo Anthony has joined NBC as one of the network’s lead studio analysts. Anthony, who retired from professional basketball in May 2023, is also a nominee for the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame this year.
His transition to broadcasting marks a new chapter in his career, bringing his on-court experience and insight to NBA coverage.
NBC is also considering Maria Taylor to anchor its NBA pregame show, aiming to strengthen its lineup of on-air talent.
Additionally, the network has brought on Jamal Crawford and Reggie Miller as game analysts, bolstering its commentary team with former NBA stars known for their basketball IQ and engaging personalities.
NBC had exploratory discussions with Charles Barkley about joining its broadcast team. However, those talks have concluded, as Barkley remains under contract with TNT for another seven years.
Anthony played 19 seasons for 6 teams, including the Nuggets and Knicks. He averaged 22.5 points, 6.2 rebounds and 2.7 assists in 1,260 regular-season games. He was selected to play in 10 All-Star games.
