ESPN’s Jonathan Givony reports that Dylan Harper is garnering comparisons to a young James Harden among NBA talent evaluators. Currently projected as the No. 2 pick in ESPN’s latest mock draft, Harper’s playing style and skill set have captured significant attention.
After returning from an injury, Harper showcased his offensive versatility by scoring 28 points, grabbing six rebounds, and dishing out five assists in a victory over Illinois.
His season statistics include an impressive Player Efficiency Rating (PER) of 25.1 and a True Shooting Percentage of .583, highlighting his effectiveness on the court.
Givony elaborated on the reasons behind the comparisons by noting, “The 18-year-old’s combination of size, shot-creation prowess, passing creativity, finishing skill and scoring instincts have drawn comparisons in NBA circles to a young James Harden.”
