When Trajan Langdon became the Pistons’ president of basketball operations over the summer, he didn’t expect to be active as a buyer at the trade deadline.

However, the team’s unexpectedly impressive performance made him reconsider his approach. Despite this shift in strategy, Langdon also strategically leveraged the team’s available cap space to secure two future second-round draft picks.

“These guys have put themselves in position where they believe they can be a playoff team, which is exciting. We know that’s important to them,” Langdon said, per Keith Langlois of Pistons.com.

“To add to that was important to us, as well. We were aware of that and kept that in mind leading to the deadline.”
