The Sacramento Kings have finalized a trade to acquire veteran center Jonas Valanciunas from the Washington Wizards. In return, the Wizards will receive promising young wing Sidy Cissoko and two future second-round draft picks.
The Kings are sending a 2028 second-round pick originally acquired from the Denver Nuggets, along with their own 2029 second-round pick, as part of the deal.
Valanciunas had also drawn interest from the Phoenix Suns, who explored possibilities to bring the experienced big man to their roster. However, the Kings ultimately emerged as the successful bidder.
In 49 appearances for Washington, Valanciunas delivered solid performances, averaging 11.5 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game while playing 20.0 minutes per contest.
Known for his rebounding prowess and efficient scoring near the basket, he is expected to add size, physicality, and veteran leadership to Sacramento’s frontcourt rotation.
