The Golden State Warriors (25-24) extended their winning ways with a 104-99 victory over the Orlando Magic (24-27) on Monday night, overcoming a sluggish start to secure their second consecutive win. Andrew Wiggins led the Warriors with 25 points, while Stephen Curry contributed 24 points in the victory.
Wiggins was efficient, shooting 7-of-14 from the field and making 10 free throws. Moses Moody added 17 points, and rookie Quinten Post chipped in with 7 points and 7 rebounds in his third consecutive start.
Orlando’s offense was powered by Cole Anthony, who scored 26 points, and Franz Wagner, who added 21 points along with five assists. Paolo Banchero contributed 18 points despite struggling with his shooting (9-of-24).
The Magic controlled much of the first half, but Golden State mounted a surge before the break to regain the lead. The win marked another blow for Orlando, who has now lost 11 of their last 13 games.
Golden State faced challenges in the first half, but a revitalized performance in the third quarter helped them pull away. Draymond Green, returning from a seven-game injury absence, provided an important lift with four points, seven rebounds, and five assists.
Despite shooting just 25% from three-point range, Golden State capitalized on their free throws, going 24-of-34 from the line. The Magic, on the other hand, struggled with their outside shooting, finishing 8-of-32 from beyond the arc.
With just over a minute left and the Magic within two points (96-94), Moody drilled a clutch three-pointer to give the Warriors some breathing room. Orlando had several late chances but couldn’t capitalize. Banchero missed key shots down the stretch, and Goga Bitadze, who grabbed 14 rebounds, missed critical opportunities.
Golden State’s defense also played a crucial role in their win, forcing 13 turnovers and limiting Orlando’s fast-break points. The Warriors also controlled the ball well, finishing with only 9 turnovers to Orlando’s 11.
