Devin Booker powered the Phoenix Suns past the Golden State Warriors with 31 points and 11 assists in a 130-105 victory on Friday night. Kevin Durant added 19 points against his former team as Phoenix improved to 25-22 on the season.
Bradley Beal provided a spark off the bench, contributing 21 points, while Nick Richards dominated the boards with 14 points and 16 rebounds. The Suns shot 56.2% from the field and made 19 of their 39 three-point attempts.
Golden State struggled offensively, with Stephen Curry failing to score until midway through the second quarter. He finished with 14 points on 5-of-14 shooting, going just 1-for-6 from beyond the arc.
Moses Moody led the Warriors’ bench with 17 points, while Andrew Wiggins added 17 points and eight rebounds. Brandin Podziemski contributed 14 points, but Golden State shot just 37.5% from the floor.
Phoenix controlled the game from the start, taking a 30-27 lead after the first quarter before extending it to 62-51 at halftime. A dominant third quarter saw the Suns outscore the Warriors 36-28, putting the game out of reach.
Booker connected on 12 of 23 shots, including five three-pointers, and now needs 60 points to surpass Walter Davis as the Suns’ all-time leading scorer. Durant hit five threes of his own, while Grayson Allen and Royce O’Neale combined for five triples off the bench.
For the Warriors, aside from Moody and Podziemski’s combined 8-for-14 shooting from deep, the team struggled from three-point range. Golden State made just 16 of its 44 attempts from beyond the arc.
Kevon Looney played through a broken nose, wearing a protective mask, but had only two points and four rebounds in 15 minutes. Quinten Post got his second straight start and finished with nine points and eight rebounds in 19 minutes.
Phoenix’s defense limited Golden State to 105 points, well below their season average. The Warriors committed 12 turnovers and were outscored 48-38 in the paint.
The Suns, bouncing back from a home loss to Minnesota, have now won six of their last eight games. Golden State, coming off an impressive victory over the Western Conference-leading Oklahoma City Thunder, failed to build on that momentum.
Phoenix will look to keep rolling as it continues a tough Western Conference stretch. The Warriors, now back at .500 with a 24-24 record, will try to regain consistency as they push for playoff positioning.
