Jonathan Kuminga is set to remain sidelined through the trade deadline as he recovers from a sprained right ankle. The injury, sustained on January 4th, has already caused him to miss 11 consecutive games.
Following a recent evaluation, the Golden State Warriors have announced that Kuminga will undergo another check-up in approximately two weeks to assess his progress further.
On a positive note, Kuminga is showing encouraging signs of recovery. As part of his rehabilitation process, he is expected to begin light, on-court individual workouts within the next week.
The 22-year-old forward, who is set to become a restricted free agent this offseason, has been a key contributor to the team this year.
In 32 appearances, he’s averaging 16.8 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 2.2 assists while playing 26.0 minutes per game.
However, Kuminga is experiencing some challenges with efficiency, recording a career-low True Shooting Percentage of .539 this season.
