Devin Booker continued his scoring surge with 37 points, leading the Phoenix Suns to a 130-123 victory over the Washington Wizards on Thursday night. The Suns (20-20) survived a late push from Washington to even their record.
Phoenix raced to early leads of 7-0 and 18-3, but the Wizards cut a 24-point deficit to just three late in the fourth quarter.
Kevin Durant added 23 points on 8-for-16 shooting, while Grayson Allen chipped in 21 points, hitting five of seven attempts from beyond the arc. Rookie Ryan Dunn delivered an 18-point, 11-rebound double-double to anchor Phoenix’s interior presence.
Tyus Jones contributed nine points and a team-high 10 assists as the Suns claimed their fifth win in their last seven games. Phoenix showcased their shooting efficiency, finishing 47.1% (16-for-34) from three-point range and 83.9% (26-for-31) at the free-throw line.
For the Wizards (6-33), rookie Keyshawn George posted a career-high 24 points on 8-for-10 shooting, including six three-pointers. Jordan Poole added 18 points, while Alex Sarr recorded 16 points and nine rebounds in a losing effort.
The Suns’ defense struggled at times, allowing George and the Wizards’ bench to outscore their starters in key stretches. Corey Kispert contributed 14 points off the bench, while Jonas Valanciunas added 11 points and eight rebounds.
