The Toronto Raptors (10-31) ended their 10-game losing streak against the Boston Celtics (28-12) with a 110-97 win on Wednesday night. RJ Barrett led the way for Toronto with 22 points and 10 rebounds, while Jakob Poeltl contributed 16 points and 11 boards.

Toronto’s victory marked its first against Boston since March 28, 2022. The team, coming off a win over Golden State on Monday, has not secured three consecutive victories this season. Scottie Barnes also played a key role, scoring 18 points and dishing out nine assists.

Boston struggled offensively, shooting 39.6% from the field and 34.8% from beyond the arc. Peyton Pritchard led the Celtics with 20 points, while Kristaps Porzingis added 18 points on 7-of-11 shooting, including 4-of-5 from deep. Jayson Tatum finished with 16 points, 10 rebounds, and seven assists but shot just 5-for-15.

Toronto capitalized on Boston’s poor shooting, particularly from its starters. The Celtics’ lineup combined for 11-of-39 from three-point range. Meanwhile, the Raptors shot a more efficient 50.6% from the field, with their bench contributing 39 points, including 7 from Bruce Brown and 8 from Jamal Shead.

The Raptors’ defense also held firm, forcing nine turnovers and limiting Boston’s transition opportunities. This performance was a stark contrast to their last meeting, where Boston handed Toronto a franchise-worst 54-point loss on December 31.

Ochai Agbaji left the game in the second quarter due to a hand injury that required three stitches. Immanuel Quickley missed his second straight game for Toronto with a left hip injury.

The loss adds to Boston’s recent struggles, as the team has gone 7-7 since starting the season 21-5. The Celtics played without key contributions from their bench, with several players failing to reach double figures in scoring.
