Tyrese Haliburton was unavailable for Tuesday’s game against the Cleveland Cavaliers, a 127-117 loss that broke the Pacers’ impressive six-game win streak.

The reason for his absence was a mild groin strain, as reported by Dustin Dopirak of the Indianapolis Star.

Head coach Rick Carlisle shared that Haliburton’s injury would be evaluated on a “day-to-day” basis, meaning the Pacers are hopeful he could return to action soon depending on his progress.

This injury is not related to his hamstring, which was initially feared to be the cause of his absence.

The distinction is important because Haliburton battled hamstring problems throughout the previous season, which caused him to miss several games and potentially affected his performance.

He has played 5 seasons for the Pacers and Kings. The point guard has averaged 17.4 points, 8.8 assists, and 3.7 rebounds in 300 regular-season games. He was selected to play in 2 All-Star games.
