The Toronto Raptors have signed forward Eugene Omoruyi to a 10-day contract, as reported by NBA insider Michael Scotto on Wednesday. This move adds depth to Toronto’s roster as they navigate injuries and look to solidify their rotation.
Omoruyi, a 27-year-old forward, has taken a winding path through the NBA in recent seasons. He began the 2023-24 campaign with the Washington Wizards on a two-way deal, later signing a standard contract with the team in March 2024. During his time with the Wizards, he averaged 4.8 points and 2 rebounds per game in limited minutes across 43 appearances.
In August 2024, the Wizards waived Omoruyi, making him a free agent. He joined the Minnesota Timberwolves ahead of the 2024-25 season but was released before the start of the regular season. Omoruyi then joined Raptors 905, Toronto’s G League affiliate, on November 21.
While playing for Raptors 905, Omoruyi averaged 20.7 points, 8.3 rebounds and 1.8 assists in 28.9 minutes per game.
Originally undrafted out of Oregon in 2021, he has played for multiple teams, including the Dallas Mavericks, Oklahoma City Thunder, and Detroit Pistons, in addition to his recent stints with Washington and Minnesota.
