Karl-Anthony Towns delivered a dominant performance with 32 points and 13 rebounds as the New York Knicks defeated the Washington Wizards 126-106 on Monday night. This victory marked New York’s eighth consecutive win, improving their record to 23-10.

Josh Hart recorded his third triple-double of the season with 23 points, 15 rebounds, and 10 assists, while Jalen Brunson contributed 18 points. OG Anunoby added 18 points and hit two crucial three-pointers in the third quarter, breaking a 63-63 tie and giving the Knicks a lead they would not relinquish.

Jonas Valanciunas led Washington with 22 points, matching his season high. Alex Sarr and Malcolm Brogdon chipped in with 18 points each for the Wizards, who fell to 5-25. Washington played without leading scorer Jordan Poole, sidelined with a bruised left hip, while Kyle Kuzma returned after missing 12 games due to a rib injury.

A tense moment occurred late in the third quarter when Wizards rookie Bub Carrington fell backward, hitting his head on the court. He was taken off the floor in a wheelchair and diagnosed with a post-traumatic headache, ruling him out for the rest of the game.

New York’s defense and rebounding were critical to their success, as they outrebounded Washington 54-46. Towns and Hart accounted for 28 of those rebounds, providing the Knicks with second-chance opportunities and limiting the Wizards’ scoring chances.

Washington’s bench showed some spark, with Corey Kispert contributing 16 points and Valanciunas dominating inside. However, the Wizards struggled from beyond the arc, shooting just 27.9%, which limited their ability to mount a comeback.
