Coby White narrowly missed his first career triple-double as the Chicago Bulls defeated the Charlotte Hornets 115-108 in an overtime thriller Monday night. White recorded 23 points, 10 rebounds, and nine assists, leading the Bulls to their 15th win of the season.
Torrey Craig came off the bench to deliver a massive second-half performance, hitting five three-pointers and finishing with 18 points. His contributions were pivotal in overtime, where the Bulls outscored Charlotte 13-6.
Nikola Vucevic added 16 points and 13 rebounds, anchoring the Bulls on both ends of the floor. Patrick Williams also chipped in 17 points, including a clutch corner three-pointer in overtime to extend Chicago’s lead.
Miles Bridges led the Hornets with 31 points, 12 rebounds, and eight assists, but his heroics weren’t enough to secure a win. Bridges hit a leaning three-pointer with two seconds remaining in regulation to force overtime after Vucevic missed two crucial free throws.
In the extra period, the Bulls dominated, with White, Vucevic, and Craig making critical plays to seal the victory. Chicago’s defense also stepped up, limiting Charlotte to just 2-of-8 shooting in overtime.
The Bulls were shorthanded, missing Zach LaVine and Ayo Dosunmu due to injuries. LaMelo Ball and Brandon Miller were sidelined for the Hornets, depriving fans of a matchup between the Ball brothers.
Charlotte’s Mark Williams continued his efficient play, scoring 20 points on a perfect 9-of-9 shooting while grabbing 12 rebounds. Seth Curry contributed 17 points, including three three-pointers, but Charlotte struggled from deep, shooting just 23.3% from beyond the arc.
The win improves Chicago’s record to 15-18 as they continue to battle for a spot in the Eastern Conference playoff picture. The Hornets, now 7-25, have dropped 16 of their last 17 games.
