Jalen Brunson delivered a career-high 55 points, including nine in overtime, as the New York Knicks defeated the Washington Wizards 136-132 on Saturday night. The victory marked the Knicks’ seventh consecutive win, improving their record to 22-10.

Karl-Anthony Towns added 30 points and 14 rebounds for New York, which outscored Washington 17-13 in the extra period to secure the hard-fought win. Brunson showcased his clutch ability, scoring two key jump shots and sinking five free throws in overtime to seal the victory.

Justin Champagnie led the Wizards with a career-high 31 points and 10 rebounds, while Malcolm Brogdon contributed 22 points. Washington (5-24) battled valiantly despite missing leading scorer Jordan Poole due to a bruised hip.

The Wizards controlled much of the game and shot an impressive 44.7% from beyond the arc compared to the Knicks’ 25%. However, 17 turnovers proved costly, leading to 26 points for New York.

Brunson’s heroics were pivotal in the game’s closing moments. With 57 seconds remaining in regulation, he converted a three-point play to cut Washington’s lead to two. He followed that with a floater with 11.1 seconds left to tie the game at 119 and force overtime.

Towns dominated the paint, shooting 68% from the field and collecting three offensive rebounds. Josh Hart contributed 13 points and 11 rebounds, while Mikal Bridges chipped in 21 points, including three three-pointers.

For Washington, Champagnie was nearly perfect, hitting 13 of his 15 field goal attempts and five of six from beyond the arc. Bilal Coulibaly added 18 points, six rebounds, and six assists, while Alex Sarr scored 12 points and grabbed six boards.
