Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the Oklahoma City Thunder to a 123-105 victory over the Washington Wizards with a standout performance, scoring 41 points.

This win marked the Thunder’s eighth in their last nine games and improved their record to 23-5, while Washington fell to 4-23 and extended its losing streak to 12 games on the road.

Gilgeous-Alexander shot 14-of-25 from the field, including 3-of-6 from beyond the arc, and a perfect 10-of-10 from the free-throw line. He also contributed nine rebounds, three assists, three steals, and three blocks. After scoring just two points in the first quarter, he erupted for 39 over the next three quarters, securing his second 40-point game of the season.

The Thunder pulled away in the fourth quarter, opening with a 19-3 run. Rookie Ajay Mitchell, who tallied 16 points, and Isaiah Hartenstein, who added 16 points and 11 rebounds, played key roles in the team’s strong finish. Oklahoma City overcame a 26.3% shooting performance from three-point range by converting crucial shots in the final period.

Washington’s Jordan Poole led his team with 31 points and seven assists. Carlton Carrington added 14 points, and Jonas Valanciunas posted a double-double with 12 points and 16 rebounds.

The Wizards struggled to maintain momentum despite hitting 16 of their first 32 three-point attempts. They missed their next 11 tries from deep, contributing to their defeat.

The Thunder capitalized on Washington’s 19 turnovers, turning them into 24 points. Oklahoma City also dominated the boards with 59 rebounds, outworking the Wizards on both ends.

Injuries impacted Washington’s lineup, as the team played without Kyle Kuzma, Bilal Coulibaly, and Alex Sarr. Oklahoma City was also short-handed, with Chet Holmgren sidelined, but the depth of their roster proved decisive.
